Hello,
It is my understanding that if I was counted for H1B quota in the previous six years, I can elect to use the remainder of that H1B as long as I've been out of the country for 1 year.
What does it mean to be counted for H1B quota in the previous six years? Does that mean 6 years from the date I was approved for my H1B, or 6 years from the date I left the country? Is it calendar years or exactly 6 years?
Also, if I elect to apply for a fresh H1B visa, and get denied at the lottery stage, can I then elect to use the remainder option?
Thank you.
