I applied with CSC processing in DEC 2001. Still waiting.

MY colleague got her LC approved last month. I told her to go for Consular processing.

Colleague is a post Graduate and has been working in the US for the last three years. What are her best chances that she would get GC faster in CP than Service Center processing?

Appreciate your help.

Nowadays it's taking ages to get out of AOS. But there are pros and cons in the both lines.

Thanks for response. I would appreciate if you please elaborate a little about the pros and cons of CP.

if your friend is filing from CSC:
1. I-140 for EB2 = 1.5 months for any other category 7-8 months
2. CP after I-140 approal = 6-8 months.

Normally Phd's dont need to go thru LC and fall under EB1 category. So I am a little confused. Anyway ask your friend what category she falls under and she can know the timelines from above and see the 3 points below and make a decision!

REcommending CP only if all criteria is met:
1. Job 100% secured for duration of I-140 and CP
2. No illegal past and never been out-of-status
3. No medical history of communicable disease
