Hi,

I was asked to submit birth affidavits as part of I-485. My parents are living in a very remote location due to which it would be hard for them to get the affidavit. So I got one from my grandfather and aunt who are in the city and close to the notary public. Could this be a problem?

If parents are alive, should it be only them who provides the affidavit or can any immediate relative do it?

Please advice. Thanks.

Dosent necessarily have to be Parents, it can be a Relative also. Should not be a problem.

I have had the same issue but I was able to get the certificate from district municipal corporation. I sent it to the last week.

any 2 persons

U can get it from any 2 persons who are 18 yrs or older and where alive when U were born...

memorex what do you mean by you had the same issue?
was your birth certificate rejected because it was not from parents?

In my case....

In my case: I provided my birth certificate + 2 affidavits to the lawyer but the lawyer only sent the affidavits to the INS. He said since they are sent I don't need to send birth certificate. Can this be true??
