Could the lawyer invalidate my Green Card after the passport was stamped?

Now I am waiting for the plastic Green Card. I hate my lawyer because he never helped me and never answered my question. Thus I won\'t want to pay money to him. But I want to know if he could do something bad that would affect my plastic Green Card or future citizenship though my passport has been stamped. Give me any suggestion if you have. Thanks Ahead!

I don\'t think the lawyer can harm ur interests as long as your employer is with you. But a hositile employer can cause trouble. This happenned in my friend\'s case as the employer informed INS (5 months after GC) that he no longer inclined to employ him because of bad conduct. My friend received a notice from INS asking him to surrender his GC immediately and appear for removal procedings. He hired another lawyer and after some hardship he managed to retain his GC.

No but he could sue you. My advice is to pay up whatever you had aggreed

Unless you have the time and money to fight court cases which you will be certain to lose

I agree with this. If you want to take up further, you can sue him saying he did not provided suffi

But if I were you, I would pay him and leave him alone.

Re.lawyer

It would be difficult to prove your case in the court of law, just pay his fees and forget him. Think, as if
this was another hurdle in getting GC.

You\'re the client

It doesn\'t matter who\'s paying the bill, for the I-485 YOU are the client and any attorney would be facing serious disciplinary consequences to intentionally damage you case.

The attorney who did this would have bigger problems than you would. My guess is that it would result in a suspension of the attorney\'s license to practice law.
