Could a Family Member's Illegal Status Mess Up my Fiancee's Application Process?

Hello,

I am an American born citizen. My fiancee works at a company currently under an H1B visa and is in full compliance with all of the rules as far as we know. He and I are planning to get married and go through the green card process that way. However, I am worried as his parents have entered the country illegally and are working. They are working in California, and he's in New York, so they never see each other but they still talk on a regular basis over the phone and have financial ties. It still worries me, as I know the green card process has quite a few background checks. If they get caught, would it look bad for our process? Could an immediate family member harm our chances of getting him through all the legal hoops?

no.
 
They will not be a problem for his green card process, unless they were already in the US when he applied for the H1B visa at the consulate (years ago?) and he didn't mention their presence in the US on the visa application (there is a question that asks about close family members in the US).
