COS H4-F1....What happens to approved H1 petition.

Hi,

I am currently on H4 Visa (which expires in oct 08) and planning to apply for change of status from H4-F1 this month (aug 08) as i would be doing my MBA this fall onwards.

Also this year i got thru the lottery for H1B which has been approved.Now i don't intend to work due to my higher study plans.So i will never be on an H1-B status (which starts in oct 08)

What happens to my H1b???Do i have to inform my employer about it??

While sending in my application for change of status from H4-F1 ,do i have to send any docs related to the H1B approval or any letter stating my approval for H1b along with it??

Urgent help needed.

The employer will have to withdraw H-1 immediately. If the withdrawl does not happen before Oct 1st 2008, you would be in H-1B status and you will have to work for the employer.

It is somewhat sad to note that a H-1B # is wasted for FY 2008 though.
