Correction needed on I-94, will that increase the RFE chance?

Had anyone experienced this before, I just felt it's so odd. I used my AP to enter the US on 01/07/03, but the INS officer stamped 01/07/02 on my I-94. I am under the AC-21 now, got laid off after 180 days, but still haven't found a full-time job. My questions are:

1) if I send I-94 to INS for the correction, will that increase the chance of my RFE?

2) My lawyer charges $250 for doing the correction with INS for me, are there ways I could do by myslef.

Thanks!

correction has nothing to do with RFE. go to local ins office and get it corrected instead of giving it to ur lawyer.
