Corporation

One quick question:

I am here on a 2nd period L1. I would like to create a business not related with my job. I know I can not go with a sole proprietorship scheme so, I thought in incorporating a new company. I will not be an employye of this company, just a shareholder.

1) Can I do it?

if so, what are my options,
2) C corp, S corp, LLC?

Any better idea?

You can own a corporation whether you are in the US or not and regardless of your immigration status (see exception below). You can't employ yourself without proper work authorization. You also can't apply a labor certification for yourself if you are the controlling entitity.

Can't do S-corp. You have to be a permanent resident or citizen for S-corp. The others are from what I know ok.

(I am not a lawyer, I cam accross this info on websites when I looked into it)
