Hello

I am in the process of Applying for E2 Visa.
I understand the amount of investment should be around 500K to be satisfying, is that correct?
Also I need to know what kind of business acitvities that i am supposed to engage in?
My main business is Stock Market brokerage and investment, yet at some lawyer office he told me that the business can not be stocks and brokerage and it has to be something related to my home country...i.e carrying trade transactions between my country and the US like export import...etc...is that correct? because if this is correct then i am actually substantially investing in somethiing that i am not interested in and never was my profession

I don't how these so called immigration attorney's arrive at 500k...when we applied we understood the amount to be a substantial part of your personal wealth, meaning that if the business failed ...you went under with it, this means if you have a million or two in your account you would have to invest a lot more than someone with a few hundred k.......they expect you to have a comprehensive knowledge of the business you will be investing also

Hi

Not sure who told you that you needed to incest $500,000 for an E visa ! If you have this amount of cash to invest you may wish to look at the EB5 investment which will achieve a green card. Also take a look at www.expatsvoice.org lots of E 2 people there

Oh and if you go E 2 route you can do any business, not sure you have been given the best advise for you so far

Sorry your no correct about having to have a million or two spare !

You have to invest a substantial sum of money, there is no set amount. The average investment is around $200,000 to $250,000 and the consulate look at each application as to the margin's of the business, each case is treated on its own merits
