Looks like Cornyn wants to deny citizenship based on secret evidence.

A vote is expected tomorrow (June 5, 2007) on Senator Cornyn's amendment (#1184) to the immigration bill, and your help is needed to stop it.

Among other things, he wants to give the Attorney General the ability to block citizenship based on secret evidence that no one can see, no one can challenge, and no court can evaluate.

We need fair and realistic immigration reform, but no more secret evidence against immigrants! Vote NO on Amdt #1184.

The Cornyn amendment would be a serious blow to immigration reform and due process. If it passes, it will:

Deny Lawful Permanent Residents US Citizenship without any cause. It would give the Attorney General unchecked power to use secret evidence to deny lawful permanent residents the dream of naturalization without requiring DHS to demonstrate that the person was convicted of any
wrong-doing or any cause for denial.
