Copy of green card

Is it Ok to take xerox copy of the new Green card?(both sides)

I believe it is ok to have a black and white copy. I think having a true (color) copy of such important document(s) is not ok (rather, not advisable).

I took both sides with b/w and color also.

is there any effect to the card for future scanning.
I guess no need to submit color photo copy in future.
only b/w copy sufficient.

I dont think your card will be (physically) affected because of making a photocopy. So, there should not be any effect on future scanning.
