convert to RIR and change job description?

Hi gurus, could you please provide help to my situation?

I filed regular LC in 2003 and got promoted 1/2 year ago(added senior in title). I am looking to have my case converted to RIR and change the job description. My questions are: is it possible to change the job description and keep the receipt date? can I use the experience I acquired with the current employer before the promotion? ( I worked for 2 1/2 yrs before employed by my current company, 3 yrs for the current employer. Can I say sr. software engineer with 5 yr experience in the job description?) Thanks in advance.

I understand the amendment to add the "senior" part to the title and job descr change.
I do not see how you can convert an application from regular to RIR.
the regulation states that it applies only to applications filed prior to Aug 3rd 2001. In this case the LC filed in 2003 cannot be converted to RIR
 
I checked with my company and got an answer that they don't think it is a good idea because the change will reset the filing date and priority date. My question is: can we amend the job description to bring the LC application from EB3 to EB2 and hold the date? Or in order to hold the date, we can amend the description but not change the EB category? Also could you provide some federal regulation links on this? Please help. Thanks a lot.
