Can I convert my case from Non-RIR to RIR .My non-RIR case was filed in NJ SESA in April ,2002 and its painful

I believe nonRIR to RIR conversion option is only available to cases filed before July/Aug 2001. You may want to think about PERM and discuss that option with your attorney. Another point to consider is, these new centralized processing centers and how they affect the backlogs in next few months.

Well I have heard PERM is very hard to get across and Labor Certification is going to be difficult with PERM. Any idea when backlog centres are going to start and how long it will take to clear the backlog?

.....

From what I understand, depending on what one's job category is PERM may or may not be good. But I think we are still waiting for final regulations on that.

In my view, some one like a Pharmacist may not have issues with PERM since the definition of what they do is fairly generic and changes little with the type of employer/position title. On the other hand most of our jobs may have an issue due to the nature of IT jobs!

Not sure about the backlog centers, though I think (from this forum) that they may have already started or very close to starting.

Any one has more info./opinions on either?

Do they have any thread on that and what do you think are the time estimates. They said entrie backlog cleared by 2005.
