Convert from h1 to f2

Hello Sir,

I am currently on H1b visa and my visa is in F1 visa. Recently I laid off from my project and I have 30 days to find the another project. If I don’t get the project in 30 days can I convert to F2 visa and still look for projects once I get the new project can I convert back to h1 visa without lottery?

Yes, you can file a change of status application from H1B to F2 before your 30 days end. But don't have an idea about h1B status change without lottery.
