Continuos Residency for Filing and Naturalization

Hi,

I have filed for my citizenship (filed date is Aug 3,2002 in CA-East Bay) and got finger printed in the middle of Sep 2002. I may getting transferred to India in Jan 2003. My question is :

1. What will happen if I get my citizenship interview notification after 6 months of my transfer? Will it affect my citizenship due to "Continuos Residence" requirement.
2. Do I have to maintain residence in my name in US?

Any input is appreciated.
