If my company sends me abroad to establish an offshore development center (which would be a company by itself) for the next 2 years or so... what will happen to my AOS. I'll still be in my US company's payroll getting about 1/4 of my current pay while I'll be paid big bucks in India

I don't think AOS will work while you are abroad - you will need to convert your case to Consular Processing...I am going to Canada for full time studies myself - my lawyer said that the GC process can continue without even me being employed, but it will be via CP route.

ourince
from what i know
your AOS will continue processing as long as you have a job offer with your current employer
This is what i am betting on for my next year education plan....
correct me if i am wrong

It all depends when you get your RFE for current employment. I did get once when i was working and as soon as I was stuck in retrogression, I took time off and finished a full-time degree.

correct...fortunately my company will give me a job offer for the GC approval.. but i don't plan to join the company after I get my GC because I Am changing careers - anyways its a verbal agreement and my company has no problem with whatever I choose...is ur employer doing the same?

no u don't...

also, anyone who already his I-140 approved and is intending to study full time again while GC goes on, be careful - your F1 might not be approved bcos u already have shown intent to immigrate via I-140...hence my reasons to study in Canada.

You keep the PD if you change to CP.

Why do you have to apply for F1 to study full time? As long as you are leagally in the county you can enroll in a university. I did my MBA while I was on H1B. Never changed to F1

with due respect, working full time and studying full time MBA dosen't make sense..one is not doing justice to the studies unless ur doing part-time.. especially if ur doing MBA frm a top school, u won't have time for work leave alone full time work..other than this, if one intends to change careers, one can go for summer internships on F1...but yeah if school rep is not a priority, I guess one can manage.

awesome!

well the 2 yr program is not actually 2 years as many deem it to be..its more like 1 1/2 years (Sep 06- Apr 08 say), and then u have summer internships for 3-4 months, so its almost a 1yr program!
