Continuance

Hi All, I just had my interview and passed all the test. They gave me a continuance form. In the form, it shows I need to provide the address of my biological child and show proof that I've been paying since birth.

Now heres my problem

It was a one night stant with the girl, she got pregant and 1 week before she gave birth she told me that shes having a kid. At this time I already got married. I stayed with my wife and had kids. I would then send a check to the other girl to help out. Then we finally went to court to get DNA, custody and child support order. DNA came back and it was mine. She has 100% custody and I'm paying her per court order. She and I are not in good terms. They started ganishing my check, but when I moved to a different company, I started sending her check to the PO box she provided.

Now UCIS wants me to provide the childs address and to show proof ive been paying since birth, or have an affidavit from her stating how much I pay and when does she recieved them. She would not give me the address and she is not willing to give me that affidavit.

I have most of the copy from 2002 to present, but how about since the baby was born since I was sending her check here and there. The court order doesnt show that I dont have any back pay.

Thanks in advance

Sorry to hear that you are in such predicament. I unfortunately don't know what to tell you except try to collect as much documentary evidence as you can. I wonder what happens to people when the other party refuses to receive payment. I mean, I have heard and known of cases where the single mother simply chooses to pursue the biological father for payment (perhaps the single mother family can support her and the child and cases like that). Asking for proof of payment since birth seems a pretty harsh request. I think the affidavit is your best choice. I don't know what you can do about providing the address. Anyway, it looks like you are in a pretty good mess.
