Contacting USCIS for a question

Hi,

I'm confused. On their website, USCIS gives you their customer service phone number and on the greeting tell you that there are customer support reps available but there's no way to get to someone through the menu system.

What is the trick to getting someone on the phone? I simply have a question on my N-400 application form that I'm about to submit.

Has anyone been able to get a human on the phone? If so, what option should I choose?

Go to the option for checking case status first, let the system finish reading the status and after that, it will give some options. One of them says something like, "if it's been more than 30 days since you didn't receive the notice.......", choose that option. Then it will put you to a rep. The moment a rep comes on the phone, just tell that you have a concern regarding your case and ask whatever you want to.
