Contacting Texas senators for Name Check status

Hi Guys,

I wanted to ask you if anyone is here from Houston, TX and have been successful in getting the FBI Name Check status through any local congressman or senators. I have been trying hard and have contacted local congressman and 2 senators but they all just keep telling me that "We have enquired your case with USCIS and you name check is pending." No one is contacting the FBI! I called the Senator's office in Dallas today and the lady there said "FBI does not give Name Check status to them and there is no way to expedite the request". I told her that I am not trying to expedite it but just want the information that what is happening with my case. Even just a document stating that "We received name check request for ____ from USCIS on ____ date and it is pending" is also good enough to file Mandamus later if the need be. I have written e-mail, letters to FBI but no use. If you guys have any comments, please let me know. This name check is frustrating me. My and my wife's 485 were filed in CA service center in May 2004. Mine got approved in Feb 2005 but my wife's case is pending due to Name check. Our PD is July 2001.

I am from TX. I did try both Senators and two congressman/woman. No help at all, good luck to you, my friend.

No use of TX Senators and congressmans

My name check is pending from Apr 15 04 and I contacted senators and congressmans from TX several times but no use.I only got response from one of senator office that "its there policy not to contact FBI".
The other congressmans office calls USCIS office every 90 days and let me know the status of name check which is in USCIS system.This is happening from past one year.

Tried John Cornyn's office again with all USCIS and FBI's response letters, they just queried the status for you and would not expedite your request.

I also tried Congrassman AL Green, his secretary is very nice (I contacted her on last September). Again did she just send a Fax to FBI for the status check. I just received her e-mail saying that my status is still pending.
