Contacting congressman

I think it is really a bad idea to contact congressman even before the official processing time of INS crosses the ND. Previously applicants used to wait until the processing time passes, before contacting congressman. Looks like people are loosing patience but not realising that there are thousands of applicants before them waiting for their turn with patience. Let's not mess with BCIS. If this trend picksup, who owns, BCIS might come with new ideas that might effect all of us. Then we will loose the one option available when we really need it.

I agree. One of my friend keep contacting congressman several times. Each time the congressman just call the 1-800 number for her which we can do this by ourselves. Her RFE was received by BCIS in Feb, 2003. But still has not approved yet. So I suspect contacting congressman will bring some negative affect. That why until now I still step away from congressman.

I would like to add that if you have been waiting for over 26 months, go ahead and contact your local house rep or senator. Since I contacted my congressman in August, we got new fingerprinting for my wife who had her fingerprints done twice in 2001. The congressman's office is also on the INS's butt to see why it is taking over 38 months to even get our cases approved. I will be updating as I get new info.

I have been P***d off waiting. Now, I feel a little fortunate, even though my time in purgatory isn't over yet.
