Hi all, yesterday I have contacted Senator Jon Corzine, they have sent me a "Conesnt Form" to sign and for the additional information.
They want me to send them the receipts & any other additional helpful documentation within 10 days. They are also saying that you will definitly hear within 30 days of your inquiry. Another friend of mine suggested him since he got approved exactly with in 60 days after contacting Jon.
Looks like Corzine has a friendly system & special office to handle immigration requests.
I will keep you guys posted as I'm already sending the packet to them tonite.
Thanks all just wanted to share the experience.

Could you guide you fellow new jersey'ens like me as ho how to contacht senator, what kind of letter to write etc.

Cheers,
adyav

Go to Jon Corzine's or Frank Lautenberg's website or call them up. They will guide you through the process. They will ask you to sign the consent forms & to send the additional documents' copies (485 receipts, EAD etc) It's easy and you will know what to do...good luck!

We did this too and it doesnt really help. They send a standard response (pretty quickly) saying they contacted the VSC and something to the effect of "... your case will be adjudicated by an officer in 60 days..."
Doesnt mean much so I wouldnt count on it...

What to say??

gurufromnj,

What did you exactly say to the senator's office to make them feel that your case is compelling or needs attention. I live in California, but my 485 was filed from VSC, what do you think? should I contact the Vermont senators or california senators. Please throw some light if you know something. Thanks

GodWeNeedhelp,
My case is March RD which is pretty close to the current published date for 485 processing by USCIS. So I took a chance to convince them that I have already passed two years and still I am dead stuck with the INS backlog issues which is affecting me to make any family based decisions pertinent to US residence. Twice the timeframe given by USCIS guidelines has passed and still I see no clear picture of my status even after being a skilled worker and help to US economy. So any help in expediating the process will be appreciated.
Your case looks like August RD, so I might not be in a right position to say anything but you can try. Yours will be californian local senator. Call their office and they have standerd group of people assigned to the immigration issues.

Good Luck!

Reply from Jon Corzine

Hi I have got the reply from Jon Corzine's office and they seem to be quite co-operative. They immediatly contacted U.S.C.I.S and off-course all USCIS have to do is give the following standerd response.

Dear Mr. XXXX:

Thank you for contacting my office in your effort to resolve the difficulties that you have experienced with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (U.S.C.I.S.). I share your frustration and I am happy to assist you in any way possible.

My Director of Immigration, David York, contacted U.S.C.I.S. on your behalf. He was advised that your Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status (Form I-485) (EAC-02-171-XXXXX) is currently pending at the U.S.C.I.S. Vermont Service Center. The Vermont Service Center is currently processing these types of applications that were received on or before February 15, 2002. Therefore, you should expect to receive further notification within approximately 2 to 4 months. If you do not hear from them by then, please contact my Newark office and we will conduct a second inquiry on your behalf.

It is my pleasure to have been of assistance to you and I hope this matter is resolved successfully. Please do not hesitate to contact my Newark office by email at immigration@corzine.senate.gov or by phone at (973) 645-3030 with any further questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

JON S. CORZINE

United States Senator
