Per my previous post's i got a call back today with status from congressmans office.

Status is same - no change. Was told that it will be AT LEAST anorther 5 months before i see any processing on my case.

MAY see 2nd FP but not 100% sure. Congressman's office basically said we sympathise with you regarding the random processing but are helpless.

However was told to check back again in 3 weeks.

so the wait begins again.....

One other interesting thing is that the office told me that they checked on my status yesterday but my online last updated is still the same old 12/16/02 (fingerprint receipt date)

Don't enquire with Congressman till your processing time

My RD is 02/08/2002 and I have contacted congresswoman in KY. I got an answer from them that it will take any time between 1 month to 6 months to schedule my 2nd Finger Print.

Previously, enquiry from congressman/woman used to be effective. Now it just became very common for USCIS and they are not giving any importance to it.

Please do not ask for enquiries from congressman until your processing time comes up.

RD 02/08/2002
FP1 04/10/2002
FP2 Hopefully in next 6 months as per USCIS Anaser

I think you are totally wrong. All and everybody with a pending application of more than six months (Congressional belief) have a right and an obligation to call Congress and complain, and/or discuss their individual cases. The fact that the enquiries prove to be useless is because USCIS does not want to give out any details about their processing policies beyond the public domain memos. If everybody calls then maybe they realize something is not right.

Note: The processing times as posted by USCIS is the greatest sham in recent government history. The dates span a 18-24 months, or even more! So only fools can go by them. Besides, the RD of I-485 apparently is not the driving force anymore.

Glenmd,

I am assuming that your comment was for me, if not then please ignore.

Everyone is in different situation and has their own rights on however they choose to excersize them. You do not know my situation and hence it is not appropriate for you to comment on it.

I do not care about what you think nor did i make this post for advise. It was for informational purpose of members who chose to use it.

By talking to the congressman i feel i am expressing concerns and frustruations of mine and also a lot of members of this community as a whole.

The liason at the congressman's office herself told me that it was their job to hear us out and try and help us out. They would not have a job if not for us !

Please keep personal comments to yourself and if you do not like it put me on the Ignore list (very useful feature of this forum).

Cool down folks

Looking back at the posts....glenmd didnt mean anything adverse. he was advising on how to use the govt help only as a last resort.
isGCthekey is also right in that he was commenting on what approach he has used and also that each person is entitled to do what he thinks is right according to their situation.
Each one of us is getting screwed due to someone else's inefficiency and the point to remember is that we on this forum are here to help or to get help for our cases.
Both of you are very helpful members on this forum. So folks....cheer up.
by the way..i am reaching my 2nd anniversary now.
I guess I should change my userid to ag30 now. :p

Did not mean to sound bashfull
