consular processing question - kind of complicated

INS has indicated that it will consider an I-485 to have been abandoned if an I-824 requesting Consular Processing is received by them. This is bad news.

is there any other disadvantages to CP beside this?

I have spouse's approved I-140 and pending AOS, USCIS said it's pending on namecheck. My own labor certification just finished and I'm thinking of specifying CP on the I-140 application, would this have any negative effect on the spouse-based I485 AOS?

namecheck is taking a long time within the US, would it be faster for me to go CP? I think it doesn't make sense for me to have two AOS and start another namecheck process which also may take a long time.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Is it possible that my wife does a consular processing while i adjust my status in u.s i am born in a country from rest fo the world category while she is an indian citizen my dates are current will it be same for her this gc is based on my employment.

I am no expert but I believe the Namecheck process is the same no matter what you choose, AOS or CP. CP has the disadvantage of traveling and absence of immigration lawyer... As far as I know...

Well, supposedly the name check process is the same. But in practice, we all know how dysfunctional the FBI is. It can give any Indian babu a run for his money. It seems to respond immediately to a name check from state dept (CP), and sits on it for years when it comes from USCIS. Check the timelines on www.cptracker.com.
