Hi,
It looks as if I have been waiting for my Labor to come through for ever, and it currently looks like a mirage – something like an Oasis in the Sahara desert but I was just trying to think what the next steps would in case fate suddenly decides to pleasantly surprise me.
I have heard of the I485 v/s consular processing. Basically my limited knowledge tells me that consular processing is faster but more risky - i.e. you have to leave the country to get it whereas I485 is slower but your spouse gets EAD and can legally work.
My question is as a Canadian PR can you apply for Consular Processing at a consulate in Canada? Or based on your nationality/country of birth you still need to go to India or whatever your country is?
Is consular processing faster in Canada that India?
I would be grateful if someone sheds light because I believe it is very relevant to us who have Canadian PR but are simultaneously trying to get US PR via labor cert.
Thanks
