Consequences of Scheduling of Oath Ceremony

I am in San Diego and is scheduled for Oath ceremony on Oct 25th. I wonder if I request for the reschedule since i am planning to travel internationally very next day. What consequences does it have. i.e. do they reschedule next coming date? How far is that coming date.

My time line in San Diego is as follows:

N-400: 01/09/06
FP: 02/10/06
Interview: 05/18/06 (name check pending)
Oath schedule 10/25/06

It can take sometime, depending on the case load of your DO. Why can't you take the oath and travel the next day. The ceremony is three hours at the most and even less if they have under 100 people taking the oath.

If you need a passport, you are probably SOL though, unless you make an appointment at the LA Passport Agency and head up Interstate 5 right after the ceremony. Check out http://travel.state.gov/passport/about/agencies/agencies_913.html
