Consequence of postponing biometrics

My wife received Code 3 Biometrics appt on the last week of October, but she is back in India and expected to arrive on the 2nd week of Nov. Is there any consequence for postponing the biometrics, how long do they normally take to reschedule. Any one has prior exp. with postponing?? I am in a dilemma whether to postpone or not.

Go to office and tell them situation. They usualy co-operate and modify the date. One my friend did that in NYC recently.
