Just called IIO about my EAD and was told it was approved and the card will arrive in two to three weeks. I am out off
work now due to the expiration of the old one. I was told by the IIO that you can not work untill you physically have the card in your hand. Some post here said IIO told that if you hear that your EAD was approved, you can work. What it should be? Any real answer rathe than a guss?

Thank you!

If you are applying for RENEWAL of EAD then you can continue working.
If this is your first EAD card then I\'m not sure what the situation is.

njeb1 : I had posted a reply to similar question called 485-question couple of days back in which you were also a participant, in the I-9 form which is the form that the employer checks to see if you are eligible to work it actually states there if you have applied for a document that will make you eligibile to work which you have (your EAD) and are waiting for such document to arrive ( which you are ) and have a receipt of application for such document ( I assume you have the receipt) that should make you eligible to work.

It is stated very clearly in that document which is published by Department of Justice and drafted by INS and now if you are not going to believe that .... then I suggest you stop posting because nobody can force you to believe anything and if you are worried about something will happen as a result you have that form I-9 as proof and you can present that in any courts in the country which will accept as evidence as a document to win your case. Otherwise you will stay confused..

Hope this helps
