Confussed, please help

I have only 9 months left in my 6 years visa. I got to decide now whether to go for CP or 485. My question is what will happen if my CP is rejected in Chennai.
a) Can I come back and work in US in H1.
b) Can I go for 485 with the same labor and 140 after CP is rejected.

Can somebody please give me an idea what all the options open if CP is rejected.

Basically CP gets rejected only for reasons mentioned in the link above. If it is rejected due to fraud or such reasons then one cannot come back to USA. But if it is not processed due to insufficient documentation, then one can return to USA, collect documentation and then reschedule the CP interview. Refer the above link as it explains the issue very well.

b) Can I go for 485 with the same labor and 140 after CP is rejected.
