Confusing reply from BCIS (ND 1/14/02)

After a long wait, i finally approached to my congressman to get a latest update on my case, i got a reply within a week but i could not understand it completely,

the reply is,
"BCIS records indicate the file is waiting for the fingerprints to be cleared. Once completed, the file will be returned to the reviewing officer for adjudication."

I had my finger print done in May 02.

Can someone help me to interprete this reply correctly...

They are waiting for security clear. I think this is normal, just hold your breath....

Does it imply that my case has been assigned to an officer for review or BCIS will assign it after it gets through the security clearance. BTY, i am from a country which requires special registration.
 
are you sure it is finger prints and now FBI Name Check (FBI Security clearance)?
If they are waiting for finger prints then you can call FBI at 304-625-5590 or 304-625-2406 to find out if they were cleared or not.
Most cases i have heard that finger prints take just few days to clear and name check takes in access of few months.
