Confusing I-864 Form

Hi CPers!

I'm kind of confused regarding the I-864 form. I've read it quite few times and I'm convinced my employer will not be able to fill up this form. My question is: is this form required for CP when the immigration petition is employed based? I mean, the company as itselfs cannot act as an individual.

If you belong to an employment based category then you do not
require to file I-864 with one exeption,

If your sponsor(employer) is also your relative holding 5% or
more interest in the company then you need I-864.

Read the following exerpt from the Dept.of State website:

Who needs an I-864 Affidavit of Support?

The following applicants for immigrant visas need an I-864:

Most applicants in family-based immigrant visa categories

Orphans to be adopted in the United States (IR-4)

Applicants for employment-based immigrant visas whose relative filed the immigrant visa petition or whose relative has a five percent or greater ownership interest in the business that filed the petition

No. You don't have to file I-824 for your wife. But you need to file I-134 (Affidavit of support) for each dependent who will be appearing for interview with you. Your dependents are your wife and children(if any). Also you need to get each I-134 notarized.
