 Hi, Let me give you my history so that you guys can better understand my situation.

Came to the US as a child, I obtain a Social Security Card and a EAD card because my mother filed for me (she was sponsor by her employers) Her case did not work out and it was closed. I guess I got aged-out and been out of status for some time. I am now married to US citizen and living in the US.

My question is regarding the I-130 question # 16 “Have your relative ever been under immigration proceedings?”
What exactly do they mean? Is it asking me if I even filed paper work with INS before? Any help would be wonderful, I’ve been working on my AOS forms all morning and it’s giving me a headache.
Thank you
:)

Immigration proceedings imply actions taken against you by USCIS because of your unlawful status or any other immigration related problems where USCIS thinks you should not be present in the US any longer. Those include deportation, removal and other legal implications. If those dont apply to you, you should answer No.
