Hello everyone,

I am a GC holder for almost 5 years.. I plan to apply for citizenship very soon, but also want to go outside the US for a week or so. Here are my questions:

1. Would this affect the clause pertaining to "one must stay in the US continuously for 5 years in order to apply for citizenship?"

2. Would I need a re-rentry permit?

3. Are there any other concerns that I should be worried about?

I am no immigration expert by far.. I've read some of the other pertainent threads here, but am yet still confused.. I'd really appreciate some answers... Thank you for all your help in advance!

1 week should be fine...no need for re-entry permit

So, in these last 5 years...haven't you ever gone outside the country ???? Is this the first time you are travelling outside after becoming PR ???

1 week is definitely not a problem. People go for 1 month..2 month...even 6 months at a stretch.

Is there any rule one must stay in the USA for say one month before
filing?

if you have paranoia, i suggest that you go to see a psychiatrist. don't post such ridiculous questions here. it will not solve your mental problems.
