Confused about priority dates

I just looked at my I140 receipt from 2004 and noticed that the all important priority date box is empty! There are however dates in both the received and notice dates. Is this a mistake? Should I be worried?

On the other hand, the USCIS website says that the date that the petition is filed is considered the priority date. I am confused and hope someone here can help me figure all this out!

Your priority date is the date when you filed labor certification (LC), so check those papers. I don't have the receipts in front of me, so I can't see whether my priority date is listed. Maybe somebody else can comment on that.

As long as the visa numbers are current (at the moment for EB1 and EB2), the I-485 applications are processed based on the filling date of I-485. In the case the visa numbers get retrogressed only then the priority date of your LC becomes relevant and not the filing date of I-485.

My bad. I got mixed up between the I-140 and I-130 and will repost my question in right forum. Sorry!! I still have a lot to learn about this stuff!
