Confused About Lud---need Help

Dear readers,

I-730 pertaining to my son is pending & out of processing date over a year. He had his Bio-3 taken on 5/4/07. Today I received LUD change date as 11/4/07. Which is exactly 6 months from Bio-3 date.

LUD is only changed once some kind of action is taken on the file. In this case 11/4/7 was SUNDAY,therefore I am confused that how come LUD has changed on SUNDAY. I have fol views.
1) May be LUD was changed on friday but posted on Sunday.
2} No action taken on file but it is just a reminder by computer to IO that 6 months have completed.

I will appreciate if any member can throw some light on this situation.

I got my Greencard approval in oct 2007 and i checked my case status online today just for the sake of it and i have an update 11/04/07. My file should be closed since I received my GC and approval letter. I have not had any other interraction with BCIS.

I guess its just the computer that makes some type of update in the system? I am not sure why there would be an activity (LUD) since i already got my card. The status says that they already mailed my card....

Maybe it is a computer update for your son's case? Did you do an info pass? if you are concerned about his case, i think you should go ahead and request status with an info pass appointment, it doesn't hurt anything, if only to alert them to the fact that you are eager to get feedback.

Thanks for ur reply. I did info pass twice in the past but it was not helpfull. The officers on both occassions said they can't access my file, therefore I need to write to NSC for the update.

I did write accordingly but no responce. However, when I e mailed them I did get reply only few days back that security check is pending.

The Sunday LUD change has surprised & confused me what could be the reason.

I have unrelated questions. Since you also received GC in October like me, shouldn't you send your N-400 no earlier than July 2011? I calculated when I can send my application for citizenship and came up with July,27 :)

Approach your local congress person and ask him/her to make an inquiry on your case on your behalf. That way you will be certain that it is truly the security checks. If security checks is the issue, there is nothing you can do but wait.

I haven't really calculated i figured someone on this site will do it! July/011 sounds right. I will count when i get closer to that date. Have a great day!
 
Chang1428, I am not sure that you can do something to speed up this petition, even your local congressman. For what I understand and read in this forum, most I-730 applications are pending forever and the beneficiaries have to wait. For how long? We don't know. However, they should process these applications within 14 months.
By the way, if you finally find a way to speed your application, don't forget to share it with us.

Let me tell you something about my case. My girl was outside of usa I filed my I-730 on 11/06 I recieved my approval on 01/07. By the time to process my case to have my DNA done it took six months. My LUD was on 08/05/07 and on 10/15/07 my girl had recieved her transportation letter and 10/26/07 welcome to my girl at JFK airport.

Barezi, what is that about "DNA" do you have to do a DNA test? and who pays for it? how much was the DNA test? yikes!:eek:
 
I paid for my DNA test. DNA is a blood test. The US embassy of my cop asked me to do it to make sure if my girl is really mine because I'd lost some evidence.
