ia new to this forum and i will like the help of people who have been there before. i am marrid an dmy wife is a us citizen. we are tryin gto file the form i864 but there is a little confusion that we will like to clear it out. the questions are:
1. is the uscis pays more attention to the current income or the last three recent federal tax return matter too?
2.if the last three tax matter, what will happen if she just start working in 2012 and has only one tax forms?
3.can i had my current income to meet the requirement, since i just graduate in may 2013 and have a job now?

ps : i do have my last three year taxes, but they are income i was making on campus when going to school, and they not meet the poverty quideline

1. It's current income that matters
2.
3. First of all, the I-864 is filled out by your wife, so it's first your wife's current income that is considered. If that is insufficient, you can add your current income (i.e. the salary of the job you have now). If that meets the requirement, then you're good.

If your wife did not file taxes because her income was below the filing threshold, per the I-864 instructions she needs to include an explanation saying that. Nowhere does it ask for your tax information.
