Conflicting statements by local centre and CSC

Hi,
I made an Infopass appointment on 9/8 and I was told by Imm Officer that our case is being processed and was assigned to an officer on 8/15. When I called CSC today, IO told me that it has not been assigned for review  . I donot know who is right. My Name check was cleared in July 2006 and was updated in CSC in Aug. Can something be done so that my case is assigned to an officer for review?

Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestion!

From my personal experience, you cannot trust 1800 CSRs. They are not immigration officers. They are just some contractors, who are responsible to collect data and send inquiries to immigration service centers. Oh, they can do one more thing: Chane of Address.. That's about all.

I used POJ method to get connected to Imm Officer at CSC.

I followed this and was connected directly to CSC. I beleive they are IO.

Thanks for sharing the "POJ" method. But I doubt the person you talked to is an IO.
When I called CSC to change address few months ago, the CSR told me that my case had been
approved. She was so sure that I couldn't unblieve her. Then few days later, I made Infopass and also made other phone calls to CSC to verify what she said. Guess you know the result, she didn't know what she was talking about!!! (Luckly my address was updated though.)

Thereafter, I have learned from some Chinese immigration web site that these CSRs are contractors and they don't have your Name Check information, they don't have extra detailed information than what you could see youself on USCIS online status web site.

In few cases I have read online, CSRs *seemed* to transfer the call to the real immigration centers, but I seriously doubt you could talk to an IO.

So, I will suggest you to try "POJ" method again and after talking to the live person, ask the person if he or she is an IO.

Anyway, I wish you the best.
