Hi:

If, at the time your name check clears and you are finally approved, you have been married for 2 years or longer, you should receive the unconditional I551.

 it make my curious now.
I filed my I-485, 6 months after I married. And maybe having my interview another 6 months after I filed. So by the time when I have my interview I already married for 1 year.

If...I get my GC approve on the spot during my interview and get my GC, can I apply Unconditional GC, one year after I received my conditional GC?? or I still have to wait 2 years? :o

And if so....when I can apply for Citizenship after unconditional GC? thank you... :p It just a thought.

Cindy,

You will have conditional GC, since you will be only married for a one year by the time you get approved.
You have to apply for I-751 after 2 years from the date you receive your conditional GC.
You have to be PR for 3 years and be married to same US citizen for 3 years along with other naturalisation requirements before you can apply for citizenship.

Hi:

No. Once you receive the conditional GC, you have to file I751 in the 90 day period before your 2nd anniversary of PR.
