concurrent I-130 & I-485 approved separately?

I did concurrent I-130 and I-485 for my parents. But they got I-130 approved first, not I-485 interview yet. Is this the normal procedure? I read somewhere that concurrent filing are processed at the same time, e.g. ususally approved at the Interview. Any input would be appreciated.

It is OK that they got I-130 approvals first. However, you filed a year ago, so I'd say it's taking too long... they should have been interviewed already.
What is the status of their case? Does it say "pending"?
Have you contacted the immigration office in any way?
