Concurrent filing saves time?

Hi, does concurrent filing of I-140 and I-485 save time? To me it makes sense because by the time I receive I-140 approval, my I-485 has already been on the waiting line for some time.

Anyone has any thought on this?

Answer to this is already in your posting...!!!

Yes. It saves some time...!!! and You can even use AC21 portability once you complete 180 days after filing 485 in worse case.

I would interpret differently. one wastes time if not doing concurrent filing. if everybody does concurrent filing, the system simply bring future I-485 to current. unless cis does sth. material to improve the efficiency the total waiting time will not be reduced. as you mentioned you get some other benefits such as AC21, EAD, AP etc.
