I am a F1 student in status and I just got married to a USC. While going through all the instructions for all the forms, I found out that I need to file I-693 with my I-485. I don't know anyone who has done this but the insturctions say otherwise.

Here is what we plan to do:

My Wife
I-130
G-325a

Me
G-325a
I-485
I-765

All these documents will be filed at the chicago lockbox facility. I am confused about I-693 and I-864. Should I file these two concurrently with all other documents? What happens if I dont?

YES YOU DO. If you don't, your case will be delayed (they will send you a letter asking for them) or worse, your case will be denied.

The instructions do not say otherwise; it clearly states that the I-693 needs to be done and mailed in in order for your I-485 application to be completed.

Me
G-325a
I-485
I-765
I-864 Affidavit of Support
I-131 Application for Advance Parole (optional,if you plan to travel outside the country while you are undergoing adjustment of status)

Filing everything concurrently is the best option; you want to avoid delays in processing caused by Requests for Evidence (RFE) or worse, rejected as PraetorianXI wrote. Good luck.

You both have been alot of help, I just saved bunch of money as i was thinking about going to an attorney to clear my doubts. Thank You!

The more I read, the more things I learn, that's natural I understand but then new doubts arise.

Says that If I apply for EAD and a Travel document when submitting I-485, I don't need to pay extra fees? The $1090 fee for I-485 includes fees for EAD and travel document, am I wrong?

Oh yes, file everything cncurrently, it will save you so much time and frustation, because your case will be processed smothly without delays of additional document which puts your case back at the botom.
So follow the link up there and file everything it states, and u'll be fine.
