concurrent filing (I-140/I-485)

Hi All,

I have already applied for I-140 under the NIW category.

Is it possible to apply for I-485 before my I-140 is approved?

Also, is it true that if it is past 6 months after filing I-485 I dont have to hold any visa to be in legal status?

And, when does the count for 6 months begin - after my I-140 is approved or right after I apply for the I-485?

Any comments will be helpful.

Hello Murman,
When did you apply for I-140. In some websites I found that if you have filed I-140 before july 2002 then you can file I-485 now. Please inform me if you have got some better information. I would also appreciate if you can provide me some more information like: did you hire any attorney? your background and what documents you collected? etc
