Concerning and worriness after my Interview

MY DO is Columbus, Ohio. I went to interview Monday. It took about 15 min the most. At first we showed her both our IDs and I showed my passport. Then some routine questions for me like drug criminal. Of course no. Then me and my husband were seperated and questions were asked about about how we met and what we did yesterday. Also the offier lady noticed that my husband has kids and she asked if I saw them. I told her that me and my husband both went to visit them quite often. And that's it. She didn't ask me to show any proof like joint bank or lease. She said seems she got all that she wanted and didn't see any problem. I will receive an letter about 4 to 6 weeks, things are processing slowly, so be patient. So we can go now. Then I asked if my case was approved or not, what kind of letter et al, she then said " we don't stamp here anymore, everything seems fine, yeah, it should be a approve letter" sounds like she's not 100% sure... So then we left. Now I started to concern because first she didn't require any document from me, not even my tax returns, no I-864. Although I prepared them all in a big folder. Also I saw lots of ppl get their GC after a week, but why she ask me to wait 4 to 6 weeks for a letter. What if they end up deny me for no reason, or like someone mentioned about getting another interview notice after a year. If it really takes 4 to 6 weeks for that letter, it will be my my most torturous 4 to 6 weeks. Does anyone else has similar experience and got GC evantually. Can you share your experience with me? Thank you.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. If there was a problem they would have told you or you would know from his questioning if he had any suspicion.

Just like EnjoyLife says if there was a problem, you would know there was a problem. If there was a problem they would have looked at ALL your paperwork and asked alot more questions than you were asked. You are fine, I believe they have to randomly select couples and question them this way, all part of the process.

Your in Ohio? Have you been to Cedar Point yet? If you haven't Get going... Great place.

Zlin, don't torture yourself anymore. I know it's hard for you to take advice now if you're not feeling well about your situation, but I went to the interview and the officer did not ask for any of my paperwork either. I had all of it, but he didn't even look at it. They do still stamp in CA, so he stamped my passport and told me the card should arrive about two weeks after I receive the letter, but didn't specify how long it would take for the letter.

It's different for every DO, but the way that the officer resolved the matter means that your case was approved, and now you just have to wait for your card to arrive. You can always make an infopass appointment if you wish to feel completely safe.

Just try to relax and spend your time planning what you'll do once you have your GC :D

Probably she already has your tax return copies from when you submitted the application first to the CIS?

Thank you guys.

Thanks for the advices. Yes, you guys are right. I should be positive and shouldn't worry too much. I'll keep you guys updated if anything happens. I think maybe the reason that they do not ask for my tax return is because I have been F1 student since 1999 and my husband's money is enough for the poor line they drawn. No I didn't give them my tax return when I applied because this reason. But I did earn money from scholarship and I got my 3 year tax return ready for them. Yes, Van5152, I heard that Cedar point place before. Just didn't have time to go yet. I'll definately check Cedar point soon~ Good luck to all of us!

interview in columbus DO

zlin, my wife(USC- indian origin) and I(Indian citizen) had our interview in columbus on the 18th and kind of got the same reception as you did. The entire process lasted about 5 minutes including the oath process. The lady immigration officer first asked to see our ID's and then asked my wife where we met. Then, turning to me, asked the ususal 485 questions. And thats it! she said we would be receiving a letter in 3-4 weeks. On further questioning, she said, it was going to be an approval letter followed by the green card in the mail. I am a little confused myself about the process. Lets wait and see what happens.
