Well this could make things easier in the coming years.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Feb. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Computer Sciences
Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has won a contract to
develop the Integrated Digitization Document Management Program (IDDMP) for
the U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services (USCIS) within the Department of
Homeland Security (DHS). The value of the base year of the five-year
contract is $5.9 million.
Under the terms of the contract, CSC will develop and implement the
IDDMP infrastructure and integrate products and solutions necessary to
enable the transformation of USCIS alien files (A-files) from paper to
digital format. Using the IDDMP system, DHS personnel will be able to more
efficiently support benefits adjudication efforts due to enhanced access to
A-files within the USCIS, as well as across Immigration and Customs
Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection and other DHS and law
enforcement agencies supporting investigation initiatives. In addition, the
automated system will provide key features for future planned capabilities
that support the strategic objectives for the USCIS' transformation
programs and the Temporary Worker Program.

Its sorely needed, but I can't help feeling its going to turn into another large waste of taxpayers money with little real-world benefit. Hope I'm wrong.
