Folks,

If a Company A has changed to a different name say 'B' and if one has already filed I-140/I-485, do they need to inform INS regarding the company name change? The company's business operation, strategy, business nature, culture all are same except the name change. Do we need to inform INS for my H1B also and need to change the approval notice accordingly?

Thanks,
LILUS

I dont know what is the procedure for 140 and 485. I know a similar case that happened for H1B. My frnd's company name changed and they filed an amendment and he had to get his H1B visa restamped.

I am also in the same boat

Hi

I am also in the same situation, Three months Back filed for I-140, I-485, EAD, AP (concurrent) and my company had a name change and i dont know what to do, and my company lawyer also dont know what to do!!!

Plese any input will be appreciated

Thanks in advance

guys check this out definitely

The people who are in the same boat are in the thread under the foll:

forum jump- i-485 issues - employment authorizations and advance parole link . refer to thread ' Ead approval under concurrent filing' where the thread starter is Vpandey. we are already discussing the same issue.
My take on this is if the company federal tax id number has changed due to name change and new h1 has been filed for then one has to file an ammendment to I-140. In my case the earlier I-140 has been approved but still an ammendment was filed just for name change.

The above is just my personal opinion or understanding from the experience based on my case.

Read the 2nd half of first page and the 2nd page in the above mentioned thread.
