I have been talking to my company to request for some proactive action on this. My company says that they have already sent in merger information and INS would atleast reply to that info in which case they would have better idea as to what they should do. One of the attorneys with whom I spoke suggested that the company should should ask the INS for a written status so that INS ios forced to reply that the case is on hold for "Name change issue".
