company merger/acq

I think my company might be acquired or be merged with another soon. I am working under H1B with 485 pending(ND Nov 2001).
Additionally, in the interim I might get promoted as well (same job duties, change in tittle only + more $ !

1. Do any of you know, if H1 ammendment and 140/485 ammendment is required? What needs to happen?

2. Is taking this promotion going to be a problem? life sucks

Mergers and aquisitions are very common in this country - the company that sponsored me from India was aquired by another company and my lawyer filed for I-140 amendment which has been approved. I do not know about H1 amendment - it might be required.

so what about 485?

if 140 ammendment is filed again what happens to 485?
does it have to be filed again?

The I-140 amend ment was filed along with I-485 (dec 2001) and was approved some time in May 2002. The I-485 is still pending and does not have to be filed again.
