As long as your old company's assets and liabilities are bought over by the new company and the new company continues to support your application you should be fine, your lawyer will probably have to file a change of name once your I-140/485 gets approved, but check with your lawyer....
how about if i had my 485/140 filed and after 7 months with 140 not approved and the company is being bought out by another company and i get layed off ?
