It\'s really more like my employer is being acquired by a larger company. Anybody knows what do I have to do. Can I continue with CP without doing anything? Or do I have to submit for an amended I140?
I saw a similar topic that\'s in the archive. Can any of those posters who\'ve gone through CP with merger/acquisition occurring before the interview please post on their experiences. Anybody please share your experiences and help ease a brother\'s mind. Thanks.

I am involved in exactly the same case...

Only your lawyer can provide you the correct answer (my lawyer is taking for ever). Do you need to file an amended I-140? May be yse or may be no. It all depends on the facts of Merger...Talk to your lawyer about it.

xml, thanks for replying...

My lawyer is also taking a long time due to certain factors. One of which is he doesn\'t know if he\'ll still be retained as the new company\'s lawyer. Another thing is, I am somewhat skeptical of his knowledge in a merger case. I\'ve asked Ron Gotcher of imminfo.com and he feels that a successor-in-interest full acquisition(both assets and liability) will allow me to continue with CP without even filing an amended I140, just bring documentation of merger and letter from new entity.
Also I\'ve read in the archive of people going for interviews without an amended I140. That\'s what I was hoping, people with experiences of going through CP in merger cases to share their thoughts. Posters like GC_Despo & Sam_GC, etc.

Same case - Successful CP in April
