company closes before 180 days of 485 filing

This is a really difficult situation, believe me. When the company closes before 180 days of filing 485, lawyers freekout giving vivid ideas and message boards create high hope. Be carefull nothing is guarenteed and nothing is clear.

People say you can use the EAD to work for the new employer, but my company lawyer (the new company hiring me )says, if you have time left in H1 then only thru transfering H1B only you can work otherwise the lawyer may be willing to accept the EAD. Company won\'t hire you unless this lawyer clears the case...

The lawyer also suggests the filing of new H1 won\'t hurt the current 485 application in process but things may turn to worst later...
 
extentions

will the second phase of h1b visa extended with out applying for green card ie first phase 3yrs and second phase 3yrs after wards what is the status if you dont apply for G.C.
 
TIME

WHAT IS THE TIME REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR G.C when you are in second phase now with 2yrs left what will be the status of the application and will it get extended further when you apply at this stage
