Companies that evaluate Computer Work experience

Hello, I am a Canadian Citizen working in the US under a TN visa. Last time I applied for a TN I got a lot of questions asked since my degrees are not in the same field as to what I am doing now. I eventually got in by showing my years of work experience in the field of computers and letters from each of the companies proving that.

I have to renew my TN in a few months time now, and I am a little worried I may have to face the same issue again. Hence, I would like to have both my degrees and work experience evaluated by a professional company so I can present it to them at the border (or may be mail it!). I found quite a few companies online, but I am not sure which one of them is recognized by INS and which one isn’t. Can someone please provide me once you’d recommend, as well as any good/bad experience you want to share?

Have you worked with them? Seems like their charges are above average rate? Would you recommend it for IT professionals?

Hello;
I used www.eres.com/ E.R.E.S. 3 years ago. The evaluation they did, education + work experience, was accepted by Immigration without any issue.

thanks for the info. I have further questions:

1) When you applied for your visa, do you take with you the evaluation form in hand or do you have to get the evaluation company to mail it to INS directly?

2) I my self am in Computer field and have over 5 years of relevant experience. Can you, along with your non-computer degree be Translated into a B.Sc in computers?

1. If you are applying at a Port of Entry (POE) you take it with you. if you are applying by mail then you mail it in the sealed envelope as you received it from the evaluation firm.

2. My qualifications to be in the US are not relevant to your situation.
